About the Services
Chiropractic
Chiropractic is a non-invasive, hands-on health care discipline focusing on the treatment and preventative management of spine, musculoskeletal, and nervous system disorders and conditions. Chiropractors perform a complete history and physical examination, diagnose and develop a comprehensive treatment plan which may include adjustments, soft tissue therapy, and rehabilitative exercise recommendations. Chiropractors also work with patients to resolve pain, discomfort to help improve the body’s function and performance.
What is an adjustment? An adjustment is a non-invasive, highly skilled manual therapy procedure consisting of a gentle, controlled, and directed movement to a specific joint – helping to relieve pain/discomfort and aiding in restoration of a normal range of motion of the joint. The chiropractic adjustment has been shown to increase motion, coordination, and circulation and decrease pain, muscle spasm, and pain.
The following are conditions chiropractic can help with – headaches, jaw pain, neck pain, mid back pain, low back pain, disc herniations, hip pain, knee pain, ankle pain, sports injuries, sciatica, bursitis, repetitive strain (overuse) injuries, elbow pain (tennis or golfer’s elbow), carpal tunnel syndrome, arthritis, whiplash, and motor vehicle accident injuries.
Contemporary Medical Acupuncture
Precise peripheral nerve stimulation technique, in which acupuncture needles are inserted into anatomically defined neurofunctional sites for the therapeutic purpose of modulating pain. It is a very safe and effective treatment method with most patients feeling minimal to no discomfort as the needles are inserted.
Soft Tissue Therapy
Treatment of the muscular tissue to help relieve pain, tension, and reduce scar tissue adhesions. It is often used in conjunction with an adjustment to provide an optimal response to treatment. Muscle release therapy involves stretching a muscle during movement of it, helping to remove scar tissue adhesions, improve range of motion, and decrease pain.
Exercise Rehabilitation
An important component of patient care as it aids in the restoration of function and improvement of performance. Individualized rehabilitation exercises can include but are not limited to muscle strengthening, core stabilization, balance/proprioceptive training, sport-specific movement exercises, and stretching.
